Nepalgunj Marathon

Medical Information & Runner Safety

Last updated 21 August 2026

Your safety is the organizers' first priority. Please read this before race day. BEFORE YOU RACE Train for the distance you have entered. If you have a heart condition, asthma, diabetes, or are recovering from illness or injury, consult your doctor before starting. Do not run with a fever or a chest infection. HEAT & HYDRATION Nepalgunj is hot and humid. Start hydrated, drink to thirst at aid stations, and do not over-drink. Wear light-coloured, breathable clothing and use sunscreen. Slow down early rather than pushing through heat distress. AID STATIONS Aid stations are placed at regular intervals along every course, with water, electrolyte drink, and first-aid support. Station positions are published on each race page before event day. MEDICAL SUPPORT Qualified medical personnel and ambulances are stationed at the start, finish, and along the route. Trained sweep staff follow the final participant on every course. IF YOU NEED HELP Stop and raise your arm to signal a marshal, or ask a nearby runner to alert the next aid station. If you see another participant in distress, stop and call for help — you will not be penalised for the time lost. WARNING SIGNS — STOP IMMEDIATELY Chest pain or tightness, dizziness or confusion, stopped sweating with hot dry skin, severe cramping, or nausea and vomiting. DECLARE YOUR DETAILS Complete the emergency contact and medical fields at registration accurately, and write any critical medical information on the reverse of your bib.
